چکیده

Abstract Contrast-enhanced multi-phasic MDCT is the most important liver imaging technique in many institutions, when a focal lesion suspected at ultrasound. Lesion characterization based on size, shape, contour, and assessment of contrast enhancement pattern. If shows peripheral nodular enhancement, with density enhancing portions similar to vascular pool, hemangioma can be confidently diagnosed. There are different arterial-phase hypervascular lesions, include FNH, adenoma, HCC, metastases from NET, melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, sarcoma, breast cancer. general, HCC considered setting cirrhosis or chronic disease. An MR examination routinely includes unenhanced T1-weighted GRE DIXON, T2-weighted TSE fatsat, diffusion-weighted (DWI) as well dynamic contrast-enhanced pulse sequences. DWI’s main clinical benefit detection which may missed conventional Liver-specific agents have been shown increase metastases, improve FNH equivocal lesions cirrhosis.

Approaching focal liver lesions.

Focal liver lesions are defined as solid or liquid-containing masses foreign to the normal anatomy of the liver that may be told apart from the latter organ using imaging techniques. Their nature is widely varying, and may range from benign lesions with an indolent clinical course to aggressive malignant tumors (Table I). They are common findings as a result of the ever increasing use of imagin...

MRI of Focal Liver Lesions

Magnetic resonance imaging, MRI has more advantages than ultrasound, computed tomography, CT, positron emission tomography, PET, or any other imaging modality in diagnosing focal hepatic masses. With a combination of basic T1 and T2 weighted sequences, diffusion weighted imaging, DWI, and hepatobiliary gadolinium contrast agents, that is gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA) and gadoxetic acid (Gd-...

Imaging focal liver lesions in children

There is a wide differential diagnosis of focal liver lesions in children including inflammatory lesions, cystic lesions and benign and malignant neoplasms. Imaging confirms the presence of a focal liver lesion, assesses the extent of disease and characterises the lesion. Initial ultrasound findings will determine if other imaging modalities are required, which include nuclear medicine (NM), co...
